How to improve the school food environment and create equal opportunities for children?
From Policy to practice
Final Conference - Healthy Wave
Rotterdam, 5th of November 2026
The Healthy Wave project together with the leading network of Eurocities have the pleasure to invite you to a one day event entitled "How to improve the school food environment and equal opportunities for children?" that will take place in the WTC Rotterdam building in Rotterdam on the 5th of November 2026.
Implementoring Healthy Meal for all (HealthyWave) aims to contribute to the implementation of the European Child Guarantee to ensure effective and free access to at least one healthy meal each school day for all children at risk of poverty and social exclusion in Europe. We need to implement school lunch concepts that have high nutritious quality, are safe, sustainable and low in waste, inclusive, satisfactory to children, parents and school staff, feasible and affordable.
A multitude of good examples are being implemented to ensure each child will have at least one healthy meal each school day and to have equal opportunities at school. This event aims to discussing how to reinforce the European Child Guarantee.
The program will include a high level conference followed by three closed working group meetings in the field of Education, Children and Food from the Eurocities network.
Looking forward to welcoming you on the 5th and 6th of November 2026.
On behalve of the conference team,
With very best regards,
René Keijzer
